I am passionate about building meaningful product experiences. Leading the Industrial Design team at Wacom (Japan/Germany) I have built multiple generations of pen and touch displays of different sizes as well as pen tablet PCs which delight our customers every day, mainly professional creatives but enthusiasts too. These people work many hours with these products making their living with digital art creation. They really appreciate the comfort, usefulness and quality of my designs. To express this quality I'm focussing on accuracy down to every detail, choosing materials honestly and take a lot of care with engineering and manufactures when implementing the design concepts to mass production. For most of these products I'm also responsible for the packaging design and aim to provide an outstanding out-of-box-experience leading the customer to a flawless set up of the products and give them the feeling of a proud ownership of an extraordinary product.
Always aiming for innovation I started at Wacom in 2011 as the inventor and lead designer of the innovative Wacom Cintiq Companion, Wacom's very first pen tablet PC.
Before I was working with the Braun design team for the new topline shaver Series 9 direction and visualised the new design language 2008–2011.
Since 2007 I'm teaching industrial design at the university of Wuppertal, focusing on design process methodology and the advanced use of digital creation tools.
Beside industrial design I'm also specialising in the design and visualization of technical products, creating various multimedia productions for automotive and machinery companies like ThyssenKrupp, Philips, Clark, Hydro, Achenbach, Goebel IMS etc.
CintiqPro is the flagship product of Wacoms famous pen & touch displays for professional creatives.
To further enhance the already best pen experience I designed a modular system around the two large 4k displays with an exchangable Xeon-Workstation and various stand solutions to match the different needs of professional users and finally turn the CintiqPro into a powerful all-in-one computer.

After the design of the successful first ProPen I created a family of various digtal styli for professional creatives with different pen diameters and button arrangements for individual preferences of the users. All of these can be used on every Wacom display or opaque tablet. Carefully choosen materials and finishes give the ProPens a premium appearance. With its ergonomic flare shape the ProPen became the iconic design for the best in class digital pen experience.

In 2010 I started researching on how artists might create digital content in the future looking at the needs of designers of various disciplines. Inspired by the just launched first iPad my idea was a tablet PC with the pen as the main input device. After successful testing the prototype the course had been set towards the innovative Cintiq Companion, Wacoms first tablet PC.

Looking closer to opportunities for more sustainable mobility one finding was, that the trunk in private cars is not used the most time. The ideation lead to a car which is compact with plenty of space by extending the trunk space when needed and collapsing there after saves length but more over also weight by using lightweight fabric in the expandable area like roofs of convertible cars.
The project has been supported by the RWTH Aachen, which calculated the energy saving opportunity on such a concept.
The study also has been focussing on complex surface modelling in Alias Automotive partly to class A standards.
